Each year the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City celebrates its membership and awards those who have demonstrated a commitment to the business community in general with an emphasis on the Hispanic community. According to the latest data provided by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City is home to more than 5,000 Hispanic-owned businesses. With the Hispanic population more than 220,000 strong and growing, we can confidently say that the Hispanic population growth drives Hispanic business owner growth in many business sectors ranging from restaurants to construction, to physicians, to beauty salons and automotive repairs and real estate, insurance and brokers. Small businesses drive the American economy and Hispanics throughout the country play a significant role in driving that growth.
